Welcome To Halloween Candytown 【Devlog #01】

Our previous writer, whatmelon, has brought a concept and outline, but after some problems she left the team.

Our previous writer, Yuu, has brought us another concept and brainstroming with us, sadly she needed to leave the project due to some personal issues in the first week.

We built the team with some members. On the first day, we were still discussing the concept and looking for writers.

We finally found the co-writer!
ctc icon and some other small elements like choice button, textbox are done.

We have our wonderful bg artist Titaniumskin~!

UI: Title, Setting, Say screen are done
Due to some reasons, our writer has to leave the team.

Coding part for some UI screen are done.
Save / Load screen, Backlog, Quick Menu design are also done.

We have the basic outlines from our new writer Mr.Rooster!

First Background (bedroom) is done!

Coding part for more UI screen are done.
In-Game Menu design is also done.
Some bugs with UI are fixed.

Story of the first 2 scenes are done

Our Editor Manit.K edited the first few scenes!
And also the coding part for first scene is done.
Our writer also added the story for scene 3 today.

Coding part for scene 2 is done.

Our editor edited scene 3.
Also the ending for Lanhua is finished. Many thanks our writer Ukigumosama!

Writer finised scene 4.

Code for Scene 3 is done!
Our artist finish the cave background as well!

Our Write finished scene 5 and most ending!
And our editor also finished edit them in the same day!
And we start to game test!
And we decided the background for scene 5.
Also our additional writer done the ending for Ziyang.
Coding part for scene 4 is finished as well.

Added the voice for Nelke and Edelweiss to the game, and other visual element.
Fixed lots of mistakes, bugs.

Coding for scene 5 and some endings are finished.
Forest background for scene 4 & 5 is finished as well!
Trailer is 50% done.

Coding is pretty much done and we sent it to Light.vn dev and waiting for the feedback to improve the code and fix more issues we found in the meantime.

We received the voice for Lanhua today and implemented it as well. Many thanks to Sunny for providing Lanhua’s voice!
We started to build itch.io page and the website.

I (kkin) review the chat and trello to start writing the devlog.

Future Plan

The current version is still a demo because we couldn’t finish all the story, endings, or CGs within a month. Therefore, we’ll be adding them after the jam.

Below are the things we’re planning to add in the future:

  • Ending CGs: Currently, none of the existing endings have CGs. (( Sadly, we didn’t manage to do that >.<
  • Full Chinese / German / Japanese Translation: These are the languages we speak, and we’ll translate the game into them.
  • Prologue, Epilogue: As you can see now, each chapter begins with a chapter cover. We’ve created covers for the prologue and epilogue too, but due to time constraints, we didn’t add them to the game yet. We’ll add not only the covers but also the story.
  • Life after the ending: We’ll add a little bit of story to let you know what happened to the protagonist and other characters.
  • ...Feel free to let us know what you’d like to see in this game!
